Belden: A Small Community with Big Heart

Belden, Mississippi, is an unincorporated town located in Lee County. Once a small-town stop along the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, much of the community is now classified as part of Tupelo, the seventh-largest city in the state of Mississippi. Tupelo is considered the cultural hub of North Mississippi, thanks in part to its status as the birthplace of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Today, Tupelo houses several historic attractions, including a museum dedicated to Presley, Tupelo National Battlefield, and Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site. Gumtree Museum of Arts, Tupelo Veterans Museum, Tupelo Automobile Museum, and Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo are other popular destinations. Tupelo also boasts a thriving local music scene and attracts blues musicians and fans from all over the world. An area steeped in history with a world-class art and music scene, Greater Tupelo is Mississippi’s undisputed hidden gem.
